Soybean oil implants are a type of implant that uses soybean oil as the filler. They are not currently available in the U.S. and their long-term effects are not known. It was originally believed that they soybean oil would make a good alternative filler because it would not interfere with mammogram readings and, further, it could be harmlessly absorbed by the body if leakage or rupture occurs.
