Home >> FAQ Section >> Liposuction Questions Frequently Asked Questions Can you explain what ultrasound-assisted liposuction is? Ultrasound-assisted liposuction, also known as UAL or ultrasonic liposuction, is a liposuction technique which uses an ultrasound probe to liquefy the fat before it is suctioned out. This technique is associated with a decrease in the bruising and swelling that occurs after surgery. However, UAL takes between 1 ½ to 3 ½ hours to complete, which is longer than traditional liposuction, and carries the additional risk of thermal burn injury.
