New York City is well known around the world for being one of the best destinations for cosmetic surgery. The best doctors & hospitals, highest level of expertise, and clean medical facilities are just a few reasons people from around the world choose New York City for their cosmetic procedure. Perhaps the best evidence of this are the countless stories people with rare of complicated conditions who choose NYC cosmetic surgeons for their operation. One story includes this young woman from the UK who was diagnosed with a tumorous birthmark that distorted the shape of her face. Update on the first Face Transplant in the US

A few months ago we posted a blog about the first Face Transplant performed in the United States. The patient was a gunshot victim whose face was permanently disfigured from the tragedy. The surgery resulted in a significant improvement in the quality of life. Curious about the price tag? The 23 reconstructive surgeries cost $353,480 (thankfully covered by insurance), $349,959 for the cost of the face transplant, and $20,000/year for immune-supressing drugs.

The price for being able to eat, breathe, and feel confident in public? Priceless!

A few weeks ago we shared a video on pets receiving plastic surgery. We were amazed to see the popularity of this phenomenon. Once again we came across another video (this time on Fox) of a dog getting plastic surgery to correct a cosmetic problem. In-fact this breed of dogs is bread to encourage this cosmetic issue (wrinkles around the eyes), but it can actually cause serious physical problems, such as blindness later in its life. But you have to admit, this pooches facelift is adorable!
