Botox is one of the most popular non-surgical procedures with its ability to take years off of a person’s perceived age. But there is now evidence that beauty and youth can also correlate to the salary that you earn. A study at the University of Texas was even able to place a percentage on it, “plain people earn 5 – 10 percent less than average people, researches concluded, while the ‘better than average’ jump their earnings another 5 – 8 percent”, says Forbes magazine.

According to a recent CBS news video, over 7 million people in 70 countries around the world, this year alone, have received Botox. But one south Florida clinic apparently gave several patients counterfeit Botox. A spokesperson from Allergan told CBS that they actively work with law enforcement to stop counterfeit Botox. Additionally, they place a holographic prism of color on their labels. For the most part, incidences like this are very rare, but if you ever question the authenticity of the Botox being offered, there are some red flags you can look out for. Firstly, if someone is offering prices extremely low or at “bargain prices” it’s most likely too good to be true. Also, have an open dialogue with the doctor administering the Botox. Ask where he/she went to medical school, if he/she is board certified, and specifically in what board are they certified. Most importantly, after you’ve received your Botox, enjoy the great results!
