More Americans approve plastic surgery

A new survey shows that 51% of Americans, regardless of income, approve of plastic surgery. With more natural results in focus, the growing number of non-surgical options available, & the over 9.5 million cosmetic procedures (surgical & nonsurgical) performed in 2010, these numbers are bound to increase. Aging gracefully not an option in the UK

Facial Rejuvenation surgery appears to be the hottest trend in the UK right now. 2011 has already seen a 97% increase in facial rejuvenation inquiries compared to 2010. Although face, brow, and neck lifts were all popular the beginning of this year, eyelid lift inquiries saw the highest spike, up 140%.

UK Study reveals cosmetic surgery trend

We’ve spoken in the past of a new trend where people have been getting cosmetic surgery to get ahead in their careers. But now there has been an actual study performed in the UK that illustrates this trend. According to this survey 30% of female executives and 17% of male executives underwent various cosmetic procedures for the purpose of gaining confidence and boosting their career prospects. Additionally, the survey revealed that 54% of women and 50% of men would consider having cosmetic treatments to help them get ahead in their careers.

Study finds cosmetic surgery can boost mood

A new study reveals that cosmetic surgery can lower depression and improve overall quality of life. The original study was conducted due to the concern of side effects from antidepressants and a desire to see if cosmetic surgery alone would impact people’s decisions to continue antidepressants. The study found that there was a 31% decrease in patients taking medication after their cosmetic surgery procedure and 99% of those patients said that their self-esteem and overall quality of life had improved.
