Universities in New York

The city of New York is home to many of the most famous Universities in the world. Students both in high school and undergraduate studies work hard to be able to apply and get accepted into some of New York’s top universities. What makes New York amazing is how diverse the universities are in terms of what they specialize in. Universities in New York focus on sciences such as medicine and business, but many also excel in the arts such as music, film, or fine art.

Located in the Northern part of Manhattan is Columbia University, a well respected Ivy League that attracts some of the brightest minds from all over the world. Columbia is very well known for their business school, but many also want to attend their engineering program, especially in their graduate studies to attain a Master’s Degree.

For those who are extremely talented in music and performances, they can look into The New School. Despite the interesting name, they are one of the top music schools in the world, especially when it comes to classical instruments.

Due to New York being one of the most fashionable cities in the world, it is no surprise that it is also home to many schools that focus on studying the fashion industry. For example, Parsons School of Design is a very prestigious school that many reputable designers such as Alexander Wang have attended. As a result of its prestige, major fashion companies hand pick their new designers from students who have proven themselves to have the drive and motivation to work in the fashion industry.

Finally, the most well known university in New York City is New York University, also known as NYU. NYU offers top level education in many fields of study, such as business, film, engineering, and medicine. Additionally, many celebrities have been spotted attending the university, such as the famous actors, the Sprouse twins.

Despite the amazing education that one can find in the city of New York, there is a cost that comes with it. Similar to the living costs or hotel costs, many of these universities have extremely high tuition costs, and NYU is even considered the most expensive university in the country. However, for those who are fortunate enough, these universities offer great scholarship packages as well for students who they believe have great potential.
