Live Entertainment in New York City:

In addition to the famous Broadway musicals, there are many other ways to enjoy a weekend with your friends from university by watching a live performance in New York City. You can watch your favorite band or musical artist perform, or you can go and watch one of the many famous sports teams in New York. With such an exciting city such as New York, it is no surprise that a musical artist would want to perform or make New York a stop in their long winded tour.

Sports are a big part of New York culture, because they host teams of all different types of sports. These include baseball, basketball, football, and hockey. Sports are so popular in New York that there are multiple teams per sport. For example, for baseball lovers, they can watch either the Mets or the Yankees. Even for those who aren’t sports fanatics, it would be a great experience to watch the Yankees play, considering they hold the most World Series titles out of any other baseball team in history.

Basketball is also another popular sport, and there are two teams in New York, the Knicks and the Nets. The Nets are actually located in Brooklyn, so it might be a bit more difficult for people visiting Manhattan to go watch the Nets.

Being on the East Coast, New York also has a prominent hockey presence with two NHL hockey teams. New York is home to both the New York Rangers and the New York Islanders. Both of these teams have won numerous Stanley Cups, so it just shows how supportive the fans are in order to help their favorite teams win.

One of the most well known architectural structures in Manhattan is Madison Square Garden, and while they host home games played by the Rangers and the Knicks, they also host live performances of some of the world’s biggest artists. These include Kanye West, Taylor Swift, and Travis Scott. Therefore, if you are in New York, there is bound to be an exciting show to watch while you are there.
