Examiner Features: NYC facial surgeon allowing you to test-drive a nose job
Recently, the public was introduced to the idea of “Vacation Boobs” as leading the forefront of cosmetic requests. Women essentially “test-driving” what it may be like to undergo an augmentation peaked my curiosity to uncover other types of temporary progressive, non-invasive treatments and techniques available.
Dr. Philip Miller is a highly-accredited rhinoplasty surgeon, specializing on the latest innovations and procedures among the mass population and revolutionizing the industry. When it comes to plastic surgery, the greatest cause of apprehension is considerably an obvious one: unrealistic expectations and permanent results. Rhinoplasty is one of the top-requested surgical procedures, yet not every inquiry is carried out due to the fear of the forever unknown.
What if I told you there was a cutting-edge treatment that uses injectable fillers to correct, change the shape, size and position of the nasal tip, straighten out the nose, and even hide bumps, all without going under the knife and being forever unrecognizable?
Liquid Rhinoplasty is a non-surgical solution used to temporarily modify the the shape of the nose, enhance your overall aesthetic appearance and boost your confidence. For the right patient, liquid rhinoplasty is a convenient and pain-free alternative to a traditionally invasive method. This strategy allows individual’s to test out surgery with no real, life-changing commitment. It is kind of like the “living together before marriage” ordeal for cosmetic plastic surgery. After all, the nose is the focal point to the face. This will become a standard benefit, or added step in the process, rather than jumping right into things.
The advantages of liquid rhinoplasty seem endless, there is no recovery time required, results are immediate, safe, effective, just not permanent. Liquid rhinoplasty procedures in NYC utilize hyaluronic acid fillers. These fillers, including Restylane and Juvederm are preferred, as they are the easiest to mold and shape. They also may be removed within 24 hours if necessary. Sounds to me like typical cosmetic maintenance for the future. The longevity of the outcome can range based on the specifics of the customized treatment plan. Everything from the brand of fillers to the target area being treated may affect how long the results will last.
Dr. Philip Miller is widely acclaimed as one of New York city’s premier cosmetic and facial plastic surgeons. His 20 years experience and well-deserved reputation as a leading expert in various rhinoplasty revision and treatment give him instant authority to break down why this is the perfect resolve for those who are seeking to improve, but are hesitant for some reason or another.
“Rhinoplasty treatments should be a completely personalized experience. As a top surgeon in NYC, it is my responsibility to provide you with all of the facts and treatment options accessible to you. There are so many different techniques out there, but this advancement that we have perfected has the ability to change the dynamic in cosmetic rhinoplasty, which has seemingly been the same for years. It is very important to educating a person on the different types of services that will meet their needs since their are so many customized factors that can contribute to selecting the proper treatment. Liquid rhinoplasty however, can ease your stress about invasive operations, financial burdens, and any disappointment due to the permanent change you are considering that will ultimately affect your entire life.
I found it so interesting that the industry is moving in this direction. Although I have to admit, I could not help myself as I researched more about liquid rhinoplasty, to reflect back on a scene from “Addam’s Family Values.”
Wednesday Addams told a horrifing camp story to a group of snobby, bubbly tweens, “And the next morning, when the campers woke up, all of their old noses had grown back!” Through liquid rhinoplasty, this has become reality.

Five Top Common Nose Shapes with Photos
If you are not happy with your nose, then rhinoplasty is always available to enhance and improve you appearance. While this type of procedure does not promise to change you life, it will give you a new lease on how you feel about yourself. Before you consider any invasive procedure however, you need to understand everything there is to know about what to expect during the procedure and afterwards.
To help you decide on your new nose, the following noses are the most common shapes that rhinoplasty patients choose. Your own selection will depend on the shape of your nose now and the symmetry of your face. After all, you want your new nose to enhance—not detract—from your features and appearance.
The Most Attractive Nose Shapes
The Snub Nose Shape
The Snub Nose Shape is a popular choice. An attractive nose, the snub nose is found in approximately 4.7% of the surveyed population. The nose is small and slopes upward at the tip, causing the nostrils to be visible. Noses of this shape are usually smaller and tend to turn up. The tip of the nose is neither round nor flat. With its slightly upturned tip, it gives the impression of a snobbish person. An example of a celebrity who exhibits this type of nose is Carrie Mulligan (see associated picture). Elizabeth Taylor also exhibited a snub nose.
The Roman Shaped Nose
The Roman nose is an over-projected nose shape, which is characterized by an outward curvature in the center protruding from the face. The bridge is pronounced and bent or curved. The nose can appear to be hooked because of its prominent bridge. This nose is often associated with great leaders and signals a person who possesses a strong personality. An example of a celebrity with a Roman shaped nose is actor Ryan Gosling.
The Turned-up Nose
The turned-up nose, also referred to as the celestial nose was found in approximately 13% of the people surveyed in the general population. Research has deemed this nose shape to be one of the most attractive. The concave features of the noses displays a depression in the mid-part and a tip that protrudes. The inward arch is due to a bulky and bulbous tip, which is commonly featured among Caucasians. If the curving of the nose is gentle, then most people find the nose to be quite attractive. For anyone whose curve is more pronounced, then surgery is often an option to improve the appearance. An example of a celebrity with a turned-up nose is Zac Efron.
The Greek-shaped Nose
This nose type is a straight nose type and is often associated with people who are considered to be quite intelligent or in good control of their emotions. Mona Lisa is considered to have had a Greek-shaped nose. An example of a celebrity who exhibits this type of nose is Jennifer Anniston.
The Nubian-shaped Nose
This nose shape is characterized as long with a wide base. This nose is often associated with people who are curious and open-minded. President Barack Obama exhibits this nose type.
Naturally, you don’t have to choose a nose that is exactly like a celebrity. Again, the best nose shape for you must be based on the symmetry and shape of your face and what you hope to achieve aesthetically. If you are realistic about your expectations, you should be well-pleased with the final results.

Nasal exercises after rhinoplasty
Dr. Philip Miller demonstrates how to keep the nasal bones narrowed after rhinoplasty and to facilitiate the reduction of swelling. Watch the video to learn how you can perform these nasal exercises after your nose job surgery.
NYC expert facial surgeon and rhinoplasty specialist, Dr. Philip Miller explains how to alleviate bruising and swelling after a rhinoplasty procedure through nasal exercises. This video shows how to keep the nasal bones narrowed after rhinoplasty and to facilitate the reduction of swelling.
Nasal exercises, which are oftentimes referred to ‘digital’ exercises, are used as part of postoperative instruction towards the recovery process. Nasal exercises typically involve a massaging motion applied to the nasal bones after rhinoplasty or revision rhinoplasty surgery. During the reshaping processes, the coordinate points of the break in the nasal bone benefit best from this technique in order to ensure optimal desired results and satisfied patients after treatment. It is not only a common practice to be performed, but requires the guidance of a top-qualified professional to help guide repositioning and sustain proper care of the nose. Nasal exercises in its simplest term, assist in correcting and/or completing execution to narrow a wide nose during cosmetic rhinoplasty. Nasal exercises are done to help further contour the nose during the rhinoplasty recovery process.
After reconstruction of an individual’s nasal bones, a nasal cast is applied to the area in order to restrict movement and realignment from the new positon. One’s nasal bones have a natural urge to drift back and shift to original placement if not tended to accordingly. Up to 6-8 weeks post-method is a sensitive time for nasal bones to fuse and fully heal from surgery and comfortably adjust to new position.
Nasal Exercise Technique
Nasal exercises, as noted above, imply placement of pressure by pushing on the bone to put it back into the desired position. As instructed by Dr. Miller, it is typically preferred to use the thumb since it provides a larger ‘pad’ to apply pressure directly against the bone. As indicated, only press on the nasal bone inward toward the middle of the nose, which is approximately the upper one-third of the nasal bridge. Avoid pushing on the top section of the bridge. For achieving optimal outcome, maintaining proper position of the thumb print below the plane of the bridge is vital.
It is ideal for patient to push down hard enough to experience a soft degree of pain- like how one pushes through soreness when working out. And just like the “no pain, no gain” mantra, if you not feel that tenderness you are likely not effecting any real change or sustainability. A patient is advised to hold down this position steady somewhere between 10 extended seconds to approximately one minute. This should be executed repeated between 25-40 times throughout the day depending in conjuction with specific recommendations from your rhinoplasty surgeon. A patient’s trained specialist will suggest if there needs to be an equivalent adjacency or if bilateral exercises (push harder on the left versus right or vice versa) are what is necessary. Desired symmetry and stability of the nose is key to the focal point of the face.
Benefits Of Nasal Exercises
The huge benefit of doing nasal exercises following rhinoplasty or revision rhinoplasty is that it can truly optimize the surgical results and achieve the best possible surgical aesthetic.
Nasal reshaping is a collaborative effort between the facial plastic surgeon and patient. There are many variables to be accounted for following any invasive procedure.
Timing and technique will maximize a patient’s overall satisfaction of their surgical experience and their results!

What separates Voluma from other fillers like Sculptra is it is purely a “lifter” which happens to reiterate other benefits that may seem comparable. However, they are not. Voluma is the only product of this kind on the market today which attributes to the rise in its popularity. The proof is in the results.
Understanding The Difference Between Filling and Lifting
Collagen is a crucial component in keeping skin looking youthful and smooth. As you age, your body’s collagen production decreases, and you may begin to see wrinkles. Sculptra® Aesthetic works to correct shallow to deep facial wrinkles and folds, as it replaces lost collagen. It is ultimately ideal for candidates who are looking to “fill in” their lines- hence injectable filler.
Sculptra® Aesthetic works to replace lost collagen in a series of treatments. It targets the underlying causes of the signs of aging. On average, three injection sessions are needed over a period of a few months. The number of injection sessions and the number of injections per session vary from person to person.
Sculptra® Aesthetic is made of a synthetic material called poly-L-lactic acid, which works to replace lost collagen. Poly-L-lactic acid is safe — absorbed naturally by the body — and has been used for years in dissolvable stitches.
Restoring Volume to Your Face or Pinpoint Wrinkles?
Before any type of dermal filler or lift treatment, a complete and thorough consultation to evaluate a patient’s needs and concerns is performed.
Voluma is available and one of our most sought after results because of its optimal results in enhancing, replenishing, and sculpting facial structure and volume to a natural and aesthetic level of beauty.

This ensures a patient’s expectations and if their desired, expectations/results can be achieved. The accuracy of the optimal aesthetic can be executed using the most innovative techniques step by step.
Otherwise Known As:
First of all, virtual rhinoplasty is NOT rhinoplasty. I had to get that out there because I’m sure someone would read “virtual rhinoplasty” and think of it as an alternative to the actual procedure or surgery. It’s not. Virtual rhinoplasty supplements the procedure by providing a more reliable picture (literally) of what the end result will be.
Virtual Rhinoplasty allows you the ability to access one’s options but also their success rate before ever even stepping foot into a surgical suite. Through the most cutting-edge (pun-intended) computer imaging and advanced technology, potential nose job patients no longer feel doubt or apprehension when considering surgical treatment.
The Patient Benefit of Going 3D
- By utilizing 3D virtual and digitized imaging, you are eliminating unrealistic expectations and offering an accurate understanding of the outcome of each procedure.
- Since the nose is the focal point of the face, people need to visualize the potential success and the various methods being used by their trusted surgeon.
The positive news is through virtual rhinoplasty these concerns are becoming a thing of the past. Patients can now experience total ease and comfort from the consultation, the procedure being performed and the completion of the recovery process.
Exploring Every Option
- Virtual rhinoplasty allows you to explore every treatment option and possible method for achieving the right proper aesthetic.
- Through the computer software, individuals may see how the various techniques will impact the final design of the nose.
- The pre-operative photographs are key for analyzing a nose from different angles and essentially manipulating the photos to precisely predict the execution method with a specialized, virtual rhinoplasty computer program.
- Your overall aesthetic will benefit as changes in tip contouring and nasal reshaping will become more evident and the tool will prove best efficient for choosing the procedure that will increase optimal results.
Virtual Break Down
Your nose is photographed using a 3D camera.
The resulting image is manipulated to show, with surprising accuracy, how you will look after the procedure.
There are two advantages to this.
- First, you can enter the procedure with realistic expectations of the end result. This is a helpful aid in making the decision to have the work done or not.
- Second, you can discuss the outcome with the surgeon who can also provide you with possible visual alternatives (depending on what they need).
This allows you more control over the outcome than would be available without 3D imaging technology. It’s really a “win-win” for you and your doctor alike.
Window Into The Future
With a window into the future, virtual rhinoplasty improves the communication between the surgeon and the patient, as well as a boost in confidence and of course, appearance! Dr. Miller is renowned for his experience successfully working with patients to realize their nose job goals. With virtual rhinoplasty, Dr. Miller is able to reinforce his expertise with the exceptional computer-generated images.
Never before has a rhinoplasty patient had such clarity into what to expect after a nose job procedure. If you’re on the fence about how rhinoplasty can improve your overall appearance, Virtual Rhinoplasty gives you an extremely accurate view into the “new” you.
