A sagging jawline is one of the first telltale signs of aging. As you age, your skin naturally loses volume, causing tissue to collect near the jawline and underneath the chin. No matter how many medical-grade skin care products you use, it’s impossible to prevent skin laxity once it’s started. When researching treatments, you may think a permanent facelift or temporary PDO threads are your only options.
Fortunately, that is no longer the case thanks to MyEllevate®. This minimally-invasive procedure can lift a sagging jawline through a suture support system for long-lasting results that are visible right away.
As a double board-certified facial plastic surgeon with more than 30 years of experience, Dr. Philip J. Miller, MD, FACS, utilizes the latest advancements in facial plastic surgery to deliver exceptional results. Dr. Miller performs MyEllevate at his Manhattan, New York office for patients who are unhappy with the appearance of their jawline.

What is MyEllevate?
MyEllevate is a facial rejuvenation procedure that lifts and tightens saggy tissue around the jawline using the ICLED® light guided suture system. This patented suture system allows surgeons to perform procedures without incisions.
Rather than cutting deep into the skin, the LED light transillumination sends feedback to the illuminated Suturod® and suture that guides it through the correct depth and direction. This system enables Dr. Miller to perform the MyEllevate procedure without incisions, which reduces bruising, swelling, and scarring.
Who should consider MyEllevate?
MyEllevate is the ideal procedure for men and women who want to enhance their jawline definition, but aren’t interested in undergoing more invasive surgery. You may want to consider MyEllevate if you:
Have saggy jowls
Have skin laxity underneath the chin
Are in good overall health
Are in your 30s or 40s
Do not smoke or use tobacco products
The MyEllevate procedure is an excellent long-term solution for lax tissue around the jaw. Unlike PDO threads, the results from your treatment may last five years or more, particularly if you combine it with additional facial treatments.
Benefits of MyEllevate
MyEllevate offers many benefits for those considering jawline contouring, including:
Minimally invasive
Long-lasting results (3-5 years or more)
Outpatient procedure
Minimal downtime
No general anesthesia
Another important benefit about the MyEllevate procedure is that Dr. Miller can combine it with additional treatments, such as Kybella®, or Face-Tite™ to deliver optimal results.
The MyEllevate Procedure
The MyEllevate procedure takes just one hour to complete. During your initial consultation, you work with Dr. Miller through his proprietary NatraLook® process to discuss your concerns and aesthetic goals. This collaborative technique ensures that you and Dr. Miller are in alignment regarding your treatment.
When you arrive for your procedure, Dr. Miller injects local anesthesia around the predetermined treatment zones to eliminate any pain and discomfort. Next, he uses the ICLED light guided suture system to perform the procedure without incisions.
The ICLED and suture rod allow Dr. Miller to interweave the underlying tissue and muscles in the upper neck with a suture thread. He then gently pulls the thread to lift and tighten the areas that are contributing to the neck and jawline’s sagging appearance.
Recovery from the MyEllevate Procedure
The MyEllevate procedure has very minimal downtime. You can resume your normal activities almost immediately after treatment. Aside from minor swelling, bruising, and discomfort, you may experience some tightness or dimpling in your skin after the procedure. These minor side effects should subside within a few days.
Most patients need about 4 days to recover from the MyEllevate procedure, during which time you may need to wear a chin strap.
FAQs
What is the difference between a facelift and MyEllevate?
While a facelift is a surgical procedure that typically requires general anesthesia and 14 days of recovery time, MyEllevate is a nonsurgical treatment that only requires local anesthesia and minimal downtime.
What is the difference between a thread lift and MyEllevate?
MyEllevate is more precise than a thread lift. The treatment also delivers more permanent results. During a thread lift, your surgeon superficially places temporary sutures that your body absorbs over time.
Thanks to ICLED light guided technology, Dr. Miller can place your non-absorbable sutures in precise locations to lift and tighten your muscles and glands.
Is MyEllevate right for me?
MyEllevate is a safe and effective procedure for any healthy adult with sagging jowls and submental laxity. If you’re hoping for a defined, sculpted jawline, schedule a consultation with Dr. Miller in Manhattan, New York to find out if you’re a good candidate for MyEllevate.
Does the procedure hurt?
Dr. Miller performs MyEllevate using local anesthesia, so you shouldn’t feel pain during the procedure. However, slight discomfort and pressure are expected. Your skin may also feel sore and tender after the treatment.
How long is the recovery?
With very little downtime, most patients recover from the MyEllevate procedure within about 4 days.
When will I see results?
You should notice results right away with MyEllevate, but it may take a few days for the swelling to subside around your jawline.
How long will my results last?
Results from the MyEllevate procedure can last for up to five years or more. Even better, the procedure stimulates your body’s collagen production, which can result in firmer, tighter skin for years to come.

Promising uptown life at its finest, the Upper East Side of Manhattan, New York is brimming with refined culture, history, and lush, green spaces –offering a reprieve from downtown’s hustle and bustle. With upscale boutiques, sophisticated storefronts, eateries, and luxury apartments, the Upper East Side is considered one of the most affluent neighborhoods in New York City.
History of Upper East Side
Before Europeans settled in the city, the Upper East Side was the center for rural farmlands and market gardens.
The Upper East Side continued to grow as farmland after the American Revolution. It wasn’t until 1837 when the New York and Harlem Railroad allowed commercial development to begin. And when the El trains helped link the Upper East Side to other parts of the city, the local population grew rapidly.
86th Street and its surrounding area became the hub for Upper East Side’s commercialization and would eventually be known as Yorkville. Farmlands were subdivided, excluding 66th to 76th Streets and from Third Avenue to the river, which became Lenox Hill. American and foreign immigrants flocked to the city in the second half of the 19th century, fueling a boom that forced populations to move outside of downtown districts. This led to the Upper East Side becoming a prime location for residential real estate development by the 1880s.
In the 1910s, the Upper East Side earned the reputation as the premier elite residential destination. With the surge in land values and the enactment of federal income tax in 1913, only the country’s wealthiest could afford to call this neighborhood home. During the early 20th century, construction of luxury apartment buildings began to accommodate more people who were eager to move to the flourishing neighborhood.
Today, the Upper East Side continues to embody classic New York sophistication with its generous offering of boutiques, restaurants, schools, churches, and top-rated nightlife.
Housing in Upper East Side
With its quiet, tree-lined urban expanse that offers proximity to all important city attractions, the Upper East Side is one of the best places to live in Manhattan, New York. Students and young professionals are drawn to this area because of the excellent job opportunities as well as the endless fun and leisure options that the neighborhood has to offer.
The Upper East Side encompasses three smaller neighborhoods: Carnegie Hill, Lenox Hill, and Yorkville. The area is one of the priciest locations in New York real estate-wise, with the current median price for listed properties approximately being $1,500,000. The median price for sold properties is approximately $97,000. On the other hand, renting a one-bedroom apartment will cost around $2300, while a four-bedroom apartment will go up to $4240 –almost 50% higher than the NYC standard.
Upper East Side Famous Neighbors
An upscale neighborhood will have affluent roots. Some of America’s most famous families have called the Upper East Side home: the Roosevelts, Kennedys, and Rockefellers. And today, some of the most popular celebrities and influential people contribute to this legacy by finding homes in this posh enclave. Famous neighbors include Bill Murray, Christopher Walken, Donald Trump, Drew Barrymore, Mariah Carrey, Kelly Rutherford, Emeril Lagasse, and Ricky Martin, just to name a few.
Things to Do
In addition to charming brownstones, sleek new condos, and the likely chance of bumping into a celebrity, there’s a lot more happening on the Upper East Side. The city’s best museums (most notably, New York’s famous Museum Mile on Fifth Avenue) are located right within the neighborhood, drawing art enthusiasts for its high culture. Other museums to visit include Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, Museum of the City of New York, and National Academy of Design.
An iconic shopping district and a destination frequently featured on movies and TV
shows, Madison Avenue is the place to go. A shopping mecca, Madison Avenue is home to some of the world’s biggest names in haute couture. And at the south end of the Upper East Side, shoppers will find Bloomingdale’s which takes up an entire city block.
Residents and visitors can turn to Central Park for green space. For those who enjoy outdoor exercise and adventure, there is no shortage of options in the city’s most popular park. And on the East End, there is the dog-friendly Carl Schurz Park –a quaint space offering dog runs and spectacular river views.
A place such as the Upper East Side will have notable dining spots too, of course. From fine dining options in Park Avenue to casual comfort food in Yorkville, there is something for everybody’s palate.

This book is a workbook to facilitate communicating your desires to your physician, answering all of your questions and informing you to make a confident decision regarding this procedure.
Rhinoplasty is a complicated surgical procedure that requires years of training, experience, and a skilled facial plastic surgeon’s hand. After decades of helping answer questions and educate patients, my staff and I decided to put this book together so you can learn:
How rhinoplasty works
What rhinoplasty can correct versus what it can’t
What to consider for people of different ethnic backgrounds
And most importantly, since a successful outcome is so dependent on clearly communicating your likes and dislikes, the pamphlet includes a workbook for you to write and draw on 6 different diagrams. You can denote what you like and don’t like about your own nose, using the terms on the opposite pages to help you describe it using “rhinoplasty terms”.
Download pages 21-31, and as you read, keep a pen and paper nearby to jot down your thoughts and any questions that arise or note any key points you’ll want to revisit later.
We’ve divided the book into four parts:
Part I: General Information
Here we will cover anatomy, rhinoplasty, your consultation, and what to expect from the procedure.
Part II: Specialized Information
This section is your opportunity to learn about the conditions rhinoplasty can correct, including chronic sinus infection, inflamed or misshapen turbinates, and a deviated septum. We will also discuss considerations for age, gender, and ethnic background.
WorkBook
Draw, sketch, and notate your likes and dislikes on the 6 different diagrams using the reference material for that view on the opposing page and use that to communicate to your physician your likes and dislikes.
