Whether you want slimmer thighs, a flatter abdomen, or firmer breasts, Gotham Plastic Surgery, the practice Dr. Miller founded in New York City, offers a wide range of surgical and non-surgical procedures to help reshape and enhance the structures of the body to improve both your appearance and confidence.
There are over 1.7 million cosmetic surgery treatments performed each year. Our board-certified plastic surgeons specialize in minimally-invasive aesthetics and will bring all of their knowledge, experience, training, and compassion to each treatment and procedure, delivering world-class body contouring with amazing results.
These are the body procedures offered at Dr. Miller’s practice, Gotham Plastic Surgery.
Body and Breast Surgery Overview
To help patients achieve incredible results in body transformation, our plastic surgeons can perform procedures such as breast augmentation, breast reduction, liposuction, tummy tuck, and revision tummy tuck.
For those who have gone through a mastectomy, those suffering from conditions like asymmetry or tubular breasts, or for women who simply want to have bigger, fuller breasts to achieve their ideal bodies, a breast augmentation can be an effective solution to correct and enhance the body to gain confidence, as well as a sexier, more feminine appearance. The two options for implants are silicone and saline, and our doctors will help you choose what will work best for you.
Also known as reduction mammoplasty, this plastic surgery removes unnecessary breast and fatty tissue, as well as excess skin to reshape breasts, making them lighter, firmer, and more proportional to your body. Breast reduction surgery is designed to reduce discomfort, emotional stress, and physical strain in patients.
40-60% of men suffer from gynecomastia –a common medical condition characterized by enlarged breasts. For men who are self-conscious about their bodies, breast reduction for men can help them achieve a leaner, firmer appearance of the chest. During cosmetic plastic surgery, excess fat and tissue are removed from the breasts. In some cases, excess skin may also be taken out.
CoolSculpting is a non-surgical body contouring treatment that involves freezing temperatures via regulated cooling plates to destroy and eliminate fat cells from localized areas of the body such as the abdomen, waist, and lower back. Damaged fat cells will eventually die and will naturally be eliminated by the body. Since no needles, anesthesia, scalpels, and stitches are involved, CoolSculpting makes for a non-invasive yet effective alternative to liposuction.
When diet and exercise still don’t give you the results you desire, liposuction can be your solution to improve your body’s overall contour, helping you look and feel great. The cosmetic procedure involves making small incisions and using a blunt-tipped tube (cannula) to draw out fat deposits from the body. Tumescent, power-assisted, and ultrasound-assisted liposuction are some of the liposuction methods performed at our New York City surgical site.
Especially when you’re in your mid-30s or older, slow metabolism, reduction of muscle mass, and loss of body definition can lead to the increase of fat accumulation in areas like your waist, stomach, love handles, thighs, and buttocks. The plastic surgeons at our practice developed a unique method of body contouring that allows for the transfer of fat from one part of the body to the other. Fat from areas such as the lower belly can be put into good places like the shoulders, biceps, or glutes to help transform your body into a sculpted, well-defined, and natural-looking physique.
A minimally-invasive procedure, BodyTite™ uses advanced radiofrequency-assisted liposuction (RFAL) technology to reduce cellulite on stubborn areas such as “love handles” or “saddle bags”, effectively sculpting the body to achieve a leaner, more toned appearance. As the radiofrequency energy melts away fat cells, the underlying tissues are also heated for a skin-tightening effect while sparing the surrounding healthy tissue. This enables less surgical trauma with a quicker recovery.
Having children may perhaps be the greatest, most rewarding experience for women, but pregnancy and breastfeeding may not always be kind to your body. Changes include sagging breasts, enlarged areolas, stretch marks, and sagging pockets of fat in the abdomen. The Mommy Makeover is a combination of selected cosmetic plastic surgeries to help moms restore their pre-pregnancy bodies –procedures such as a breast lift, breast reduction, tummy tuck, and liposuction can effectively help you achieve a more youthful contour to the breasts and abdomen.
Before and After of a Tummy Tuck to Contour the Abdomen Region
Providing a solution to a soft, sagging tummy, a tummy tuck or abdominoplasty can minimize the appearance of a protruding abdomen, whether due to extreme weight loss or pregnancy. This plastic surgery treatment involves removing excess skin and fat from the middle and lower abdomen, while also tightening the weakened muscles of the abdominal wall. Sometimes combined with liposuction, this procedure can help you achieve a tight and sleek abdominal area, as well as an improved body contour.
Whether due to complications with healing, improper technique, or a surgeon’s lack of experience, some patients can be left with poor results from a tummy tuck procedure, leaving them dissatisfied. Fortunately, a revision tummy tuck provides a solution. This procedure involves correcting issues associated with loose skin, scars, and contour irregularities, helping restore more ideal contours to the abdomen.
Combining radiofrequency energy with vacuum, Tite-FX is an advanced and cutting-edge approach to non-invasive lipolysis. The Tite-FX handpiece delivers targeted radiofrequency energy to the treatment area, effectively removing excess fat and contouring the body for a more toned appearance with patients experiencing minimal discomfort, no downtime, and long-lasting results. This procedure can even improve the appearance of cellulite.
Are you ready for the new you? Our plastic surgeons has the expertise and experience in helping both men and women achieve the body of their dreams. As a prominent feature of the face, the nose lends to the overall harmony of your facial features. Do you find your nose to be too flat, too large, or too small for your face? If you are dissatisfied with the natural appearance of your nose, or have an obstruction causing difficulties in breathing, a
rhinoplasty or “nose job” can refine the shape, structure, width, angle, and other features of your nose.
Top nose job surgeon, Dr. Philip Miller in Manhattan, New York can help you achieve a nose you will love –whether by reshaping a nose that will complement and enhance your natural beauty and facial symmetry, or by restoring its functionality by correcting any structural abnormalities that are interfering with your nasal passages.
Dr. Miller offers the following nose surgery procedures.
Cosmetic Rhinoplasty / Nose Jobs
Rhinoplasty
A rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure that changes the shape of the entire nose or just a small portion of it. It can be done for cosmetic reasons –such as to change the nose’s shape and appearance to make it fit more harmoniously with the rest of the face. It can also be done to improve the nose’s function, for instance, to correct breathing problems associated with structural issues as a result of trauma or birth defects.
Just like women, men can also be dissatisfied with their overall appearance because of a nose that is either too big or too small, or could be misshapen due to an injury or birth defect. A rhinoplasty can improve a man’s appearance by creating facial symmetry, or providing relief from conditions such as sleep apnea and excessive snoring.
A very conservative approach is employed in evaluating teenage rhinoplasty patients in New York City. Careful patient selection and parental involvement ensure that the process is beneficial and highly successful for the patient. Benefits of teen rhinoplasty include improved self-confidence, comfortable breathing, and better health.
Also called reduction rhinoplasty, a nose reduction by Dr. Miller provides a solution for those who want a smaller nose, whether in terms of width, nostril size, or profile. The procedure involves removing nasal cartilage and bone, trimming, or rearranging them to achieve a smaller shape. During the healing process, the skin will shrink down and adopt the new, smaller nasal structure.
A nose reshaping procedure incorporates a variety of techniques to increase or decrease the overall size of the nose, reduce or eliminate bumps or humps, or modify nostril size. Nose reshaping can also be performed to correct restricted airflow through the nasal cavities.
Also known as liquid rhinoplasty, non-surgical rhinoplasty allows the surgeon to alter the shape, size, and position of the nasal tip, straighten the nose, or hide bumps through the use of injectable fillers. Injectable fillers can painlessly, safely, and effectively reshape the nose, resulting in a dramatic difference in the overall appearance of the face.
MicroRhinoplasty allows the surgeon to reduce or eliminate a hump or bump in the nose without resorting to bone fracturing or other highly invasive procedures. It uses an innovative air-powered micro rasp to remove the obtrusive bony layers with extreme precision until the desired nose contour is achieved. The procedure can be completed in as little as five minutes.
Before and after of a Rhinoplasty to remove a nasal bump and sharpen the nose
Wide nostrils can contribute to the appearance of an oversized nose that draws attention away from the eyes and face. To reduce nostril size, portions of the surrounding tissue are removed through incisions made on either below or inside the nose.
Virtual Rhinoplasty utilizes advanced computer imaging and technology to provide patients with the ability to see what their rhinoplasty results will look like from the comfort of Dr. Miller’s consultation chair. Pre-operative photographs of the nose will be taken from different angles and will be uploaded to a computer. With virtual rhinoplasty, patients can “try on” a variety of changes to find the look that is best for them.
For patients who are unsatisfied with the outcome of their first rhinoplasty, they have the option of undergoing a revision rhinoplasty, also referred to as secondary rhinoplasty. The procedure will repair the shape and internal function of the nose.
Septoplasty is a surgical procedure for treating nasal blockage. The septum is the wall of bone and cartilage that divides the nose into two separate nostrils. This can be crooked in some people, resulting in a deviated septum. Septoplasty will straighten the septum, allowing for improved airflow through the nose.
Patients can suffer from both a deviated septum and chronically enlarged turbinates (the bony, mucosa-lined outgrowths on the sides of each nostril). Septoplasty and turbinate reduction will be performed to realign the septum and achieve facial balance and symmetry, and to reduce or remove the nasal turbinates, providing relief from nasal blockage, mucus production, and nasal drip.
Accidents or injuries from contact sports can result in nasal fractures and broken noses. While some broken noses can be resolved with a basic alignment procedure, most cases will need surgery. Depending on the severity of the break, one or more of these procedures will be required to restore full functionality and appearance to the nose: Closed reduction of nasal fracture, open reduction of nasal fracture, rhinoplasty, and septoplasty.
A less-invasive treatment designed to open up blocked sinus passageways, balloon sinuplasty will help drain mucus buildup in patients who suffer from chronic sinusitis. The procedure uses a small, inflatable catheter (balloon catheter) to open up blocked sinus passageways and is inserted through the nostril and into the inflamed sinus. The catheter is then inflated to expand the sinus opening, allowing it to be flushed with saline solution to remove mucus buildup, after which the balloon catheter is deflated and removed.
Typically the result of anatomic and functional problems, nasal obstruction can result in dysfunctional airflow in the nose. Nasal surgery is performed to improve the nasal airway. Common procedures include septoplasty and septoplasty & turbinate reduction.
Each ethnic nose presents unique structural characteristics. Most ethnic rhinoplasty patients aim to improve the appearance of their nose while still retaining and preserving their ethnic identity. Achieving a westernized look is not the goal but rather, an improved nasal appearance that is in harmony with the rest of their facial features.
Specialized techniques are utilized for Asian nose surgery to achieve the best possible results without impacting the patient’s ethnic identity. Asian rhinoplasty can address common issues such as a flat nasal profile, flared nostrils, or a wide nasal tip.
This surgical procedure is designed to consider the unique characteristics and concerns of African-American patients. African-American rhinoplasty can correct common issues such as thick skin on the nose, wide nostrils, or a weak or thin cartilage in the tip of the nose.
Persian rhinoplasty is designed to reshape the nose and produce results that are not only aesthetically pleasing, but also preserve the patient’s ethnic identity. Persian rhinoplasty can address common nasal issues such as a bulbous nasal tip or a large nasal profile.
Before and After of a Rhinoplasty to reduce a nasal bump
A Middle-Eastern “nose job” is a type of ethnic nose reshaping that is designed to consider the patient’s unique features and concerns, producing results that are aesthetically pleasing yet preserve the patient’s ethnic identity. Middle-Eastern Rhinoplasty can correct common issues such as a bulbous or hanging nasal tip, a large nasal profile, or a curvature of the nasal bridge.
Techniques specifically designed for the nasal features of Korean patients will be utilized to produce positive results that both achieve facial harmony and preserve ethnic identity. Korean rhinoplasty can address common nasal issues such as a flat nasal profile, wide nasal tip, or wide nostrils.
Specialized techniques will be used to help patients achieve their aesthetic goals without sacrificing their ethnic identity. Jewish rhinoplasty can correct common concerns such as an overprojected nasal tip or a large dorsal hump.
A customized treatment plan ensures that the patient achieves a nose that matches his or her facial characteristics without impacting ethnic identity. An Indian rhinoplasty can successfully address concerns such as a hump or bump on the nasal bridge, thicker skin on the nose, wide nasal structure, or a rounded nasal tip.
Before and After of a Rhinoplasty to reduce the nasal bump and straighten the tip
Each procedure is specially designed to achieve excellent aesthetic results while maintaining the patient’s ethnic identity. Hispanic rhinoplasty can correct common nasal issues such as a large bridge, a flat nasal tip and bridge, or wide, flat nostrils.
The nose is comprised of two areas –the outside and inside. Any nuance within each of these areas can result in a nose possessing undesirable characteristics such as a hump, bump, or a nasal blockage. Regardless of the reasons for seeking rhinoplasty, the patient’s unique nose structure and characteristics will impact all aspects of a nose job procedure. To better understand how and why rhinoplasty works, one should have a basic understanding of how the nose is built.

Eye Procedures
Blepharoplasty
Before and After of a Blepharoplasty to lift the upper eyelid
Also referred to as eyelid surgery or an eyelid lift, blepharoplasty removes excess fat and skin from the upper and lower eyelids and alters the underlying muscles to improve a puffy, sagging, or tired-looking appearance. It can address cosmetic issues by improving aging symptoms as well as functional purposes by correcting droopy eyelids that can interfere with your vision.
A personalized treatment plan will consist of facial fillers and/or neuromodulators to address your aesthetic aspirations. A simple series of injections will help reduce wrinkles, minimize dark areas, and restore facial volume.
Forehead And Brow Lift
Before and After of a brow lift to rejuvenate the brow and forehead region
Forehead or brow lift is a cosmetic surgery procedure that rejuvenates a drooping brow, restores the eyes’ appearance, and elevates the brows to produce a smoother, more youthful look. If you have a drooping brow that’s interfering with your peripheral vision or a lined forehead that makes you look tired, sad, or angry, this procedure can help remove or alter the muscles above the eyes to not only smooth lines and elevate the brows, but to also restore its proper, functional position.
Before and After of a Rhinoplasty to reduce a nasal bump
More commonly known as a nose job, a rhinoplasty improves the appearance of the nose by reshaping, reducing, or augmenting the nose. It can also remove a hump, narrow the nostril width, change the angle between the nose and mouth, as well as correct injuries, birth defects, and certain breathing problems. A micro rhinoplasty may also be performed to correct minor asymmetries, humps, or other cosmetic issues.
Before and After of a Revision Rhinoplasty to straighten the nose
Because of the intricacies of the nasal structure and the sometimes unexpected course of tissue recovery, rhinoplasty may produce unexpected or undesirable results. If you’re unhappy with your rhinoplasty results from another surgeon, Dr. Miller offers revision rhinoplasty to correct and fix the appearance and function of your nose.
Before and After of a Rhinoplasty to reduce the nasal bump and sharpen the tip
Although each patient is unique, there are basic similarities within each ethnicity that must be taken into account in order to ensure the patient’s desired results are achieved safely and effectively. Each ethnicity will have distinct nasal characteristics and it is the goal of an ethnic rhinoplasty procedure to preserve each patient’s unique identity and features.
Using a series of injectable fillers, a non-surgical rhinoplasty safely and effectively alters the shape of the nose to enhance your overall facial features without changing the cartilage or underlying bone of the nose.

On the West Side of Midtown Manhattan lies a neighborhood that goes by Hell’s Kitchen, and it has a very interesting history due to the changes in culture it has faced. When one thinks of Hell’s Kitchen, they might assume that it is an area that is teeming with amazing restaurants, pizza parlors, or ice cream shops, but that is actually not what Hell’s Kitchen is usually known for. Hell’s Kitchen was actually a fairly rough part of New York City that was filled with poor working class Irish-Americans, and it was a rough and gritty area. They had below average real estate prices, but as the years went on, the personality of Hell’s Kitchen has greatly changed. Nowadays, it is becoming more and more gentrified with aspiring actors, musicians, and Wall Street bankers moving in to find a more affordable area of living compared to the rest of Manhattan.
Despite the formerly gritty reputation, there are actually many nice things to do in Hell’s Kitchen, and it is not a very dangerous area at all. Located in Hell’s Kitchen is the New York Public Library’s Columbus Branch, and it has been there for over 100 years. Additionally, the Marvel comic superhero, Daredevil, was born and works in Hell’s Kitchen.
With a name like Hell’s Kitchen, it is worth noting that there are some noteworthy restaurants in the neighborhood that tourists should consider going to. In the heart of Hell’s Kitchen not too far from Times Square is a row of restaurants, and one of them is a famous Michelin one star restaurant called Tim Ho Wan. It originated from Hong Kong, and it is known as one of the cheapest Michelin star restaurants. They offer small plates that are delicious to share, and the final price of the bill is usually quite affordable. If you’re looking for a meaty cuisine, the Bolivian Llama Party is a restaurant that you should visit. They have delicious sandwiches, great low prices, and it is located at a very cool subway stall.
Once you are done eating at Hell’s Kitchen, a quick trip will take you to the Vessel, which is an architectural masterpiece that was just recently completed in the West Side of Midtown Manhattan.

An often overlooked portion of New York City by tourists is the upper portion of Manhattan, also known as Harlem. Because it is in the upper region of Manhattan, Harlem is also known as Uptown, which is referred to in R&B artist Bruno Mars’ song “Uptown Funk.” The neighborhood of Harlem gets mixed reviews due to the idea that it is a relatively dangerous part of New York City, but as the years have passed, Harlem has shown to be quite safe as long as travelers know where they are going. Regardless, there is a rich culture within the neighborhood of Harlem that contains many exciting things to do.
The Apollo Theater, a world famous performance hall for some of the biggest name sin music, is actually located in Harlem and has been active since 1934. Notable names that have performed here are Duke Ellington, Dizzy Gillepsie, and Count Basie. However, it is not only restricted to professionals. They have their famous Amateur Night where they showcase emerging singers, bands, comedians, and dancers on their world renowned stage. Michael Jackson’s career was actually launched at this Amateur Night as well!
Because Harlem is a predominantly black culture, it is no surprise that there is the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture. This public library has over 10 million objects, artifacts, recordings, and art pieces. The main floor has a constantly changing series of exhibitions, so it is always worth checking out their website before going.
Food is a huge part of New York culture, and Harlem is also home to some delicious restaurants, and Sylvia’s Restaurant is one of the most well known restaurants in the neighborhood. Sylvia’s is also known as the queen of soul food, and it was founded in 1962. It has a long historical culture, and the food is exceptional.
Surprisingly, there is also a Smithsonian affiliated museum in Harlem, the National Jazz Museum. It is located just a few blocks away from Sylvia’s, and despite its small size, it is more than enough to satisfy a Jazz enthusiast’s appetite. You can listen to hundreds of recordings from early Jazz musicians, and this includes rare recordings that would not be otherwise found anywhere else in the world.

Due to the island-like nature of New York, it is impossible to commute around without interacting with at least one of the many bridges that connects the state together. However, these bridges do more than just connect the state together. These bridges are also works of art and architecture that people enjoy sightseeing and walking along to appreciate them.
Quite possibly the most famous bridge of all is the Brooklyn Bridge, which is a 5,989 foot long bridge that connects Manhattan and Brooklyn together. It has a long history of carrying horse-drawn carriages and trains, but nowadays, it is only limited to cars, pedestrians, and cyclists.
Another bridge that is a marvel to look at is the Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge, which is a cantilever bridge that hovers over the East River. It connects Manhattan and Queensboro, but between it is also Roosevelt Island. Due to the close proximity between Queensboro and Manhattan, the length of the bridge is only 3,724 feet.
When it comes to architectural masterpieces, the Hell Gate Bridge is no slouch. It has a total length of 17,000 feet, and it connects Randalls Island with Queens. The bridge was a four year project which was finished in 1916, and the care that was taken when building the bridge was so precise, that when the final piece was placed, there was only a 7.9mm adjustment necessary to join everything together.
The High Bridge which is located in Uptown Harlem is also the oldest bridge in the city, and it has a total length of 1450 feet.
Finally, the Manhattan Bridge is a very popular bridge that is used among both tourists and locals of the city of New York. Similar to the Brooklyn Bridge, it also connects Manhattan and Brooklyn, but it also includes subway tracks. The entrance to the Manhattan Bridge is right around Chinatown, and a popular spot for tourists to take fashionable photos is DUMBO, which is an acronym for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass.
With New York having such a long history and being the financial capital of the country, they have come to have some amazing architectural masterpieces such as their buildings and bridges. Tourists from all around the world make it a goal to visit at least one of these structures just to marvel at how beautiful they are. Fortunately, they are scattered all around manhattan, so no matter where you are, you are bound to be close to one.
The Empire State Building, possibly the most famous skyscraper in the world, is located in Midtown Manhattan right by Madison Square Garden. It was formerly the tallest skyscraper in the city, but regardless, people all around the world are familiar with it. However, the Empire State Building is more than just an architectural masterpiece. It is an office space for some of the world’s most notable businesses to do work and create productivity, but surely, the rent is extremely expensive.
Another marvelous skyscraper in New York is New York by Gehry, which was designed by the famous architect Frank Gehry. This building has wild curves and edges that make it very fun to stare at and wonder how the building was able to be built in a stable manner. Frank Gehry’s architectural style can also be seen at the Walt Disney Concert Hall which also shares a similar appearance.
Stepping away from tall skyscrapers, the Vessel, which is located in the lower west side of Manhattan near Hell’s Kitchen, is a beautiful piece of architecture that can be entered by any visitor. It is a part of the Hudson Yards shopping center, and is a series of staircases connected in the shape of a cone. The entire structure has bronze accents, and creates a beautiful appearance due to the many different angles that the sunlight strikes it throughout the day. Construction began in 2017 and was completed in March of 2019, and it quickly attracted many visitors.
In addition to the amazing buildings, due to the geographical nature of New York, they also implement many bridges to connect the different portions of the state.
For those looking to take a trip to New York, it is important to find a hotel that suits your every need. With so many hotels located in the city, location is a huge factor when it comes to choosing one, but cleanliness, hospitality, and other amenities should also be taken into consideration when looking for a place to stay. Due to the high cost of living in New York. there are many price tiers of hotels, and we will go through the 3, 4, and 5 star hotels of New York.
When it comes to 3 star hotels, you can find some great places to stay for a relatively low price. For 3 star hotels, the standard of hospitality is great, especially when compared to some of the less reputable parts of town. A fun place to stay for younger individuals is Pod 39, which is located in Midtown Manhattan not too far from Times Square. The price is affordable, and they even offer a rooftop lounge, delicious food and ice cream, and a colorful game room. Another 3 star hotel that can be found for a bit more of a premium is the Yotel. This is a minimalist’s dream due to the very clean and minimalistic rooms that they offer with little frills but great hospitality.
